I believe you already found that people currently don’t see friend's post. Its becoming rare and feed is getting populated with ai slop and extreme post.

Not only just bot post, bot like, bot share, even current bots are so sophisticated; you may doubt about human.

People with different believe and race were always in our society. But current social media algorithm makes two different thoughts in front each other to start the wrestling, so the outcome is predictable.

It's not just about social media algorithm I think it's happening because of the new view and engagement driven creator economy and our cognitive bias.

The main weakness is the loss aversion(a bias where people react more strongly to losing than to gaining the same amount)

So, people react more on lose... for example, post title “When Social Media Becomes Zombieland, I Created a Place to Breathe”

The first part of the title highlights a problem: good social media is losing its quality, momentum, or purpose. Even though the second part presents a solution; a new, better solution; your attention naturally sticks to the negative part. This is because our minds are wired to focus more on losses or bad news.

“When Social Media Becomes Zombieland, I Created a Place to Breathe”

Though the title I wrote that focusing on the solution. and respectful to user attention; Lets make it intense to prove this… (caution, its loss aversion example)

Intensity level 1> Social Media Is Stealing Your Mind and Life.  This Is the Last Way Out

Intensity level 2> “Everything You Love Is Being Destroyed by Social Media.  Here’s How to Survive”

Intensity level 3> “The World Is Dying Behind Your Screen.  I Built a Place to Breathe”

Intensity level 4> “Your Life Is Being Hijacked by Toxic Social Media.  Escape Before It’s Too Late”

Intensity level 5> “Social Media Is Collapsing Civilization.  This Is the Safe Space You Need”

Intensity level 6> “Every Scroll Is a Step Closer to Ruin.  Here’s the New Social Media That Saves You”

Intensity level 7> “The Digital Apocalypse Is Here.  Find Your Sanctuary Before It’s Gone”

You already understand the power and the weakness.

Content creators focus on loss, bad news, and negative events because that’s what gets the most attention. When users see more posts like this, they start to express negative feelings about the world. These bad feelings then trigger others to believe that the world is really ending. It works like reinforcement. When creators see users’ reactions to bad things happening, they post even more of the same content. It becomes a self-reinforcing cycle,  a kind of trap that keeps people stuck in negativity, often without realizing it.

But the reality is different. The world is not falling apart like it seems online. If you have confusion of my word, follow statistics. Compare historical data standard of living, health, and education over the last 10, 20, 30, or 40 years. Check old newspapers, not just today’s feeds. You’ll see that things are generally getting better, not worse. Yet people feel the world is ending, not because it is, but because online attention traps us in a loop of bad news and fear. Our perception of the world is worse than reality.

As I talked earlier, friend and family post. Social feeds becoming covered or filled with garbage post unnecessary or toxic post. My approach is bringing the friends post back. And also make family friendly environment. There will not be any public post from user or public profile discovery.
